Local transport in Jaipur is easily available, with a diverse range of public and private transportation options. Rajasthan Roadways has well organised city, state and inter-state bus services that is one of the best in the country. Several private travel services, and those run by tour operators/travel agents are also available. Chauffeur driven private cars and taxis for long distance travel are also available in Jaipur. Buses : City buses originate in and around Jaipur; the fares are quite low. They start in Amer from Ajmeri Gate, junc. with MI Road – and well if you want a seat it’s better to board there than at the Hawa Mahal. Cabs : Tourist taxis are readily available, but not the yellow-top taxis that are a familiar sight all over the metros of India. Others : Other transport includes 3-wheelers, cycle-rickshaws, tongas and mini buses.
